The 2026 Open Doors World Watch List calls MPs, churches and individual believers to support Christian persecution advocacy in the UK for our brothers and sisters suffering around the globe. Discover how to stand with persecuted Christians through policy influence, prayer and public awareness.
Open Doors is a primary voice for Christian persecution advocacy in the UK and the charity’s World Watch List 2026 Launch will take place in Parliament on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, hosted by Ruth Jones, MP. This will be a significant moment in the UK’s commitment to championing freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) globally.
Open Doors serves the persecuted Church worldwide, equipping believers, advocating for religious freedom, and raising awareness through initiatives like the annual World Watch List. This annual parliamentary event, is a powerful act of advocacy that brings the plight of persecuted Christians across the nations to the attention of UK policymakers. It offers firsthand testimonies from believers who suffer for their faith, alongside clear policy recommendations for how the UK Government can respond.
Since its inception in 2020, this initiative has grown in influence, now supported by over 107 MPs across party lines. In terms of lobbying MPs, this successful project has had its genesis in local constituents and churches raising the issue of persecuted believers with their MPs. This grassroots momentum is something the Christian community should both celebrate and continue to build upon.

Why Christian persecution advocacy matters in the UK
In a world where over 360 million Christians face high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith, advocacy efforts such as the World Watch List launch are vital. The Christian Broadcasting Council is known for lobbying Parliament in support of Christian media and allied matters. Our Patrons include Baroness Cox of Queensbury and Lord Alton of Liverpool.
By engaging Members of Parliament, this event seeks to shape foreign policy, humanitarian aidmand international human rights commitments. The parliamentary launch will be followed by an online public event on January 21, 2026 where individuals across the UK can explore the 2026 World Watch List findings and join in prayer for the persecuted Church. Free tickets are available via Eventbrite.
