A prayer for open doors and fresh anointing over Christian media – Betty King

Rev Betty King, prayer for Christian Media at CBC Revive 2026

A special moment of CBC Revive 2026 was when Reverend Betty King, apostolic prophet and a longstanding figure in UK Christian media, led the room in a powerful prayer over the leaders, broadcasters and communicators gathered.

Betty King is no stranger to Christian media in the UK. As founder of Betty King International Ministries, she has spent decades as an apostolic prophet to the nations, travelling to every continent and touching lives through the prophetic. What began in 1998 in a living room with a handful of people has grown into a ministry built on prayer, mentoring, business and media, all held together by what she describes simply as obedience to God.

In media circles she is perhaps best known for her seat on the directorship of GOD TV’s programming, where she creates content designed to tell unique stories and start important conversations. She is also a familiar voice across the BBC, Daystar, Revelation TV and Premier Radio, and her own programme, The Cry, airs every Wednesday on GOD TV, available on Freeview channel 282 and Sky channel 580.

At Revive, Betty was invited to pray over the leaders and visionaries working in Christian media. What followed was a prayer for discernment in an industry that can, in her words, mean saying yes to being beaten down, while still trusting that grace is sufficient. She prayed for protection against compromise, for open doors, and for a fresh anointing over Christian broadcasting and the CBC.

It was a fitting moment in a conference built around encouraging and equipping Christians in media, and a reminder that behind the strategy, the storytelling and the headlines, prayer remains the foundation of Christian media outreach. Justin Brierley: We have a special visitor joining us, Reverend Betty King. Betty, would you come up? Betty King almost needs no introduction, because she has been so prolific in terms of her influence in the UK and beyond, and has very much been part of the story of the birth of Christian media in all kinds of ways. Betty, thank you very much for coming. I believe this is your first time visiting these new studios, and obviously they are so beautiful.

Reverend Betty King: You know, it is unbelievable to be here today. The new Premier Christian Media HQ is stunning.

Justin Brierley: Well, look, I wonder whether you could do us the honour of praying for us as we continue to talk, hear from more guests, and eventually go from this place to spread the word.

Reverend Betty King: It would be my pleasure. Can we stand, please? Thank you.

I would like each and every one of us first to pray for the visionaries of this meeting. Somebody had to say yes to enable this gathering to take place and I first want to pray for the CBC leadership.

Father, I just want to thank You. Precious Holy Spirit, I thank You for Your ministry. I thank You for Your inspiration. I thank You for Your presence here, Your manifest presence. I love the way, God, You inspire people’s hearts to colabour with a vision from God. We would like to thank You for the leadership of this event.

Lord, how You touched their hearts and enabled them to bring many of us here today to hear Your heart for the next season. I ask You, Lord, to continue to bless them, encourage them and strengthen them, in the mighty name of Jesus. And I pray, Father God, for each and every person here this afternoon.

Father, saying yes to the media gate can sometimes mean asking to be beaten down, but many are still standing because Your grace is sufficient. And in this season we are praying for more and more grace, more understanding and more discernment, so that we will be able to discern, Father, what is of You and what is not of You.

That we would discern what comes to pollute the media gate, what comes through intimidation and deception to cause those whom You have chosen to compromise and dilute Your word. Lord may you preserve everyone, their eye gate, ear gate and guard their hearts so that there will be no compromise as we stand for the truth, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

I pray, Father God, for open doors, that You will open doors for each and every person present here today. Lord, we are very much aware, according to Your Word, that the steps of a righteous man and woman are ordered by You. Father, You have brought everyone here, including those online. Lord, I declare a new anointing, a fresh impartation of grace and fresh understanding in this season, in Jesus’ mighty name. And I pray, Father God, that no weapon formed against anyone shall prosper. I pray, God, that Your sons and daughters will prosper, and that You will grant them good health and great understanding. Lord, Christian media will not be labelled with infirmity.

Holy Spirit, precious Holy Spirit, thank You, God, for a fresh impartation of grace, wisdom and understanding, a powerful anointing that breaks every yoke. May the voice of Great Britain be heard once again through the media gate. May you elevate these forerunners in Christian broadcasting and the CBC and increase their capacity, in Jesus’ mighty name.

We feel this revival. That You will revive this movement, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
