As 2026 continues to unfold, CBC UK Chair, Olave Snelling encourages everyone in Christian Media to step forward in confidence and faith, believing this will be a year of great breakthrough. This message was shared during January’s Pray for the Media gathering, with a stirring reflection from Psalm 57, to rise up in praise and worship and hope.
“My heart is confident in you, O God. My heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises. Wake up, my heart. Wake up, O lyre and harp. I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.” (Psalm 57: 7-11)
2026 comes with its share of uncertainty. What lies ahead of us? Who knows what is going to happen – wars, rumours of wars and goodness knows what else. But God goes before us. He is not caught unaware. And He calls His people not to fear, but to be faithful.
These words from Psalm 57 are not words of complacency, but of rising up. This is not the year to wait and see, it’s a year to move, praise, and proclaim. To me, “I will sing your praises among the nations” speaks of international Christian media in action. So that His Glory shines across the whole earth.
We don’t want to simply indicate we’ve got some great muscle, but we do have the opportunity to praise. And praise, is never wasted as we lift up the name of the Lord. Quite the opposite, praise causes us to bear much fruit.
We thank God for all He is doing through Christian Media in the UK from Premier Media to UCB, GOD TV and Revelation to name just a few of our networks. We ask for God’s hand of blessing on every single thing He’s planning to do through the Christian media this year – every programme, project and conference. We lift our hands to God, asking, “Lord, will You bless every single one?”
“I sense deeply in my spirit that 2026 will be a year of pushing through. Barriers that have stood for years will be shattered. There will be a divine breakthrough into a new place of clearer, stronger and more powerful communication of God’s Word.”
My prayer for you in 20026
Lord, use all our colleagues in Christian Media to shine your light into the dark places, of which there are so many in our world. As we seek Your face, will You speak to us? Will You communicate to us? We thank You that You are the God of Communication and that Your Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld your glory.
For those working in media and mission, my cry is clear: Lord, by the power of the Holy Spirit, let this great, salvation message get out further into the world. And whatever part we can play, help us to do it, to the fullest extent of our faith and energy.
Come into our mess, Lord. Come upon us with power. May we receive the full measure of Your Holy Spirit’s anointing on everything we are doing for Your Kingdom’s sake. Lord, we just ask that there will be great push through this year. Amen.
A year of mighty exploits
“…but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Daniel 11:32b)
As I end off, I want to affirm my belief that this will be a year of faith in action. A year of mighty exploits, not for our fame, but for His Kingdom. A year to crash through long-standing resistance and to carry the message of Jesus into the hardest and darkest of places.
I feel in my spirit this year that this will be a year of pushing through. All kinds of barriers that have been up for ages and ages – there will be a crashing through those barriers, into a place of much more powerful communication of the Word.
